In late 2018 Lynskey Engineering Ltd. was appointed as the mechanical building services contractor for the construction of the 50,000m² distribution centre.
1. Warehouse heating system serviced in part by waste heat from refrigeration systems
2. Rainwater harvesting system provided
3. High End office fitout with air conditioning systems.
The development of the BIM began the collaborative process this project required, engaging with the main contractor and the subcontractors to coordinate the mechanical services. The heating system for the warehouse has been designed to capture as much waste heat from the refrigeration plant as possible. In total 190km of underfloor heating, the pipework was installed throughout the warehouse floors. Water services systems, including rainwater harvesting, were installed to services the canteen and welfare facilities. The office areas have been provided with ventilation and air conditioning systems. A building management system has been installed to control the operation of these systems and to monitor the consumption of energy and water. The project was successfully completed in early October 2019.
